Towering suspension bridge over the Muddy Missouri River

George and I walked over to our missionary friends apartment for dinner this afternoon and were greeted, "Hi Sister Mower and Sister Mower". George didn't look at his badge very well and was wearing one of mine.  Whoops ;-).

HUGE downpour on Wednesday!

We are really enjoying this time of our lives!  But this experience, although we are thankful for this opportunity, it isn't anything like our last mission in the Philippines where every day was an adventure.  We have a wonderful Mission President and his wife and daughter.  We love the missionaries and are grateful for little snippets of time we have to be with them.  One missionary told me this week that I am "the bomb".  I had to ask the meaning, and was relieved to find out this is a compliment.

Main street in the beautiful farming town of Warrenton, MO

Friday we visited missionaries.  Why didn't I take pictures; not sure.  We were enjoying the beautiful rolling hills and green flora in several small towns north of St Louis.  The missionaries in this area all live about 20 miles from each other, but attend the same building on Sundays: lots of traveling.

We love our weekly service in the Temple.  Yesterday was no exception.  We marvel at the many people, including workers, who routinely travel hundreds of miles to attend the House of the Lord.  We are so blessed to be less than 10 minutes from the Temple!  This will of course change when we return to Tucson.  The Temple is now closer, but still 45-minutes or more.

One observation; my favorite birds hanging out near our apartment are Blue Jays.  I love their obnoxious cry and if they had a mirror, it may be a true cry.  Many of them are losing the feathers on their heads.  I was happy to learn it's an August thing for the Blue Jays: molting.

Been following these baby geese since they were newborns--now almost grown!
