Wonderful Sisters we have come to love |
We watched an interfaith effort of The Forgotten Carols. Our good friends and CES Missionary Couple; Elder & Sister Whitlock sang in the choir. We love Jen and Reed; they are always looking for ways to serve in the community. Jen had decorated the halls of the theater with treasures gathered on walks including leaves, pine trimming and extra chopped wood from the neighboring housing area. Missionaries also helped building the sets. The director didn't quite understand when she would ask one missionary for help, and they always brought along their companion.

Karen Presenting at ZC |
This week we attended our last zone conferences. It was a holiday theme that included skits prepared by all the districts. Elder Mower was mentioned in several (the car guy). They also did a white elephant exchange. . moving junk from one apartment to another hmmmmm. We shared some training and our testimonies with the other departing missionaries. It was wonderful to share our last goodbyes with many of the missionaries.
Lunch at Zone Conference |
We enjoyed Christmas music at Church; today only five Primary children came and one three year old yelled out to her mom during the performance, "Are we doing this again soon?" Christmas Bells are Ringing, a favorite song of mine, several young women (as that is all there are) sang the cadence to the song. I was the back up teacher for Relief Society (if needed, I was not), but I am thankful the teacher was able to be there today. The lesson was on the Atonement of Jesus Christ; I loved studying about our Savior. Our missionaries were challenged to memorize The Living Christ; and we have heard wonderful testimonies of Jesus Christ in the last few days. It was great to repeat these truths about our Savior at the zone conferences.
Mom celebrating her 100th birthday at the senior center |
George's Mom celebrated her 100th birthday this last week. I think she is about partied out. But she has had many well wishers and surprise celebrations. She says she needs a rest.
